DECLARATION OF PRAISE

NOT FOR EVERYBODY.
YET PERFECT FOR ME.

I like idealists who had the audacity to do something unique against the spirit of the times.
Self-taught Carinthian Johannes Muchitsch is such a person and his gracefully aged Schlossvilla Miralago on the northern shore of the Wörthersees is a truly magical place. A hideaway for confessed bon viveurs and probably the last stronghold of the classic summer resort on the legendary Wörthersee.

Already a first glance in the morning towards the turquoise-blue lake resembles a postcard: on the left the Maria Wörth peninsula with the Karawanken in the background, to the right, the foothills of the Carnic Alps with Mittagskogel and Dobratsch. Above all that the sun that shines almost Italian-like. No less spectacular is breakfast, which prepared with great care tastes best when served on the terrace or in the garden.

The sunny yellow, landmark-protected villa has a mere four double rooms and six suites, which has the pleasant effect of the garden never being too crowded, even during peak season. The Salettl down on the lake is a place of magical romance and is even older than the large spruce, which gives a shade wonderful to relax in during midsummer.

The Blue Hour magically attracts guests and friends of the house to the beach bar. An equally peculiar and unique structure directly on the water. But with all certainty one of the most beautiful spots on the lake when it comes to celebrating the short moment between sunset and nighttime darkness in proper style. And later in the evening, the Chef cooks personally for his guests. Sometimes with such passion that time plays a minor role.

Nobody knows exactly how many stars the Schlossvilla Miralago really has. It’s best to count them on your own. At the end of the day with the sky above you. With a glass of ice-cold Muscat in your hand and the certainty that true luxury cannot really be classified.
